Anjanette Green and Raefer Wallis Join WELL Advisory Groups 2018-2019

Anjanette Green, Director of Standards Development for RESET and Raefer Wallis, Founder and CEO of RESET and ORIGIN, have been selected by the International WELL Building Institute™ (IWBI™) to be part of the 2018-2019 WELL advisory groups.

Green, a staunch advocate and leader in the IAQ community is contributing to the WELL Air & Thermal Comfort advisory, joining the ranks of experts from around the globe. Wallis, a pioneer in the field of data quality standards for environment quality monitoring and building product data, will be participating in the Materials advisory group. Both Green and Wallis join a select group of leading industry professionals who will guide the continuous evolution of concepts in the WELL Building Standard™ (WELL™).

The nine WELL concept advisories – Air & Thermal Comfort, Water, Nourishment, Light, Movement, Sound, Materials, Mind & Community – align with the 10 WELL concepts introduced in the WELL v2 pilot. WELL concept advisories consist of leading global subject matter experts, practitioners and users across the fields of public health, design, building and medical science.

Advisors, such as Green and Wallis, will work with the IWBI Standard Development team throughout the year to help ensure that WELL continues to align with the latest industry research, meets user needs and raises the bar for healthy, high-performing buildings around the world.

“Being selected to join such an esteemed group of internationally-recognized experts is an honor. I am eager to get input from these learned individuals who come prepared with international perspectives and knowledge that goes beyond our respective borders. This is an opportunity to have truly collaborative and robust conversations that will benefit all who seek improved indoor environments and more efficient designs. The responsibility this group shoulders is not lost on me; our thoughts and collective knowledge could help shape the future for thousands of people and millions of square meters of building space around the world. I couldn’t be more excited to rise to the occasion,” says Anjanette Green.

Internationally, the field of healthy building is still nascent. Over the past 15 years our own experience has been in building material data and indoor air quality monitoring, developing data quality standards for both. Yet, these are just pieces of a much more complex and evolving puzzle,” says Raefer Wallis, “We’re deep believers in collaboration and the sharing of expertise amongst peers as the only way to solve the colossal environmental challenges we are faced with. The WELL Advisory Groups will make a significant contribution to the field of healthy building.

The RESET™ Building Standard and the WELL Building StandardTM  share a common mission to help improve the environments that foster human health. Leaders of both organizations have already worked extensively with each other in harmonization efforts that will benefit the ADEC community as a whole. Participation in the WELL Advisory Groups by key authors of the RESET Standard fosters a growing relationship between the two organizations and points to more synergies in 2019.
